Vidikovac - perfect area for peaceful life in Belgrade

Vidikovac is a Belgrade area that belongs to the municipality of Rakovica and is located 10 kilometers from the center of Belgrade. The settlement itself is located at the border of the municipalities of Cukarica and Rakovica at an altitude of 190 - 195 meters.

The Vidikovac area was built in the late 1970s. The name originates from the site - much of eastern Belgrade is visible from the hill of the same name on which the settlement is located. Much of the settlement was designed by Mihailo Canak and Aleksandar Djokic. In recent years, Vidikovac has been a much sought-after location for the construction of commercial and residential buildings.

LOCATION

Vidikovac is bordered by following parts - Rakovica in the west, Kneževac in the south, Labudovo Brdo further in the south and Cerak Vinogradi in the north. To the west, across the Ibar Highway, it is mostly a non-urbanized zone.

CHARACTERISTICS

The Vidikovac area is designed as a series of skyscrapers (up to 24 floors) built in smaller concentric circles, within larger circles represented by circular streets. The main streets are Vidikovacki venac that surrounds the area, Patrijarha Joanikija which runs right through the middle of the area, and the Ibar Highway and Pilota Mihaila Petrovica form the outer border of this neighborhood.

The area has been developing rapidly since the early 1990s. Vidikovac market is one of the largest markets in southern Belgrade. A McDonald's restaurant was also built within the neighborhood of a small shopping mall.

TRAFFIC

With the city center, Vidikovac is connected by bus lines 23, 53, 59 and 37, and in addition to these lines, line 89 leads you to New Belgrade, and line 50 to Ustanicka street.
